Caden and Chapman

We Matched!! Wahoo! M4s get an email on the Monday before Match Day that tells them if they matched or not. So we are very thankful that Ricky's said he Matched. We find out on Thursday where it is.

We had the pleasure of keeping Chapman today (Caden's cousin). Julie and Chapman were in Memphis for the day and Julie had some things to take care of so Chapman, Caden, and I got to hang out for the day. Ricky even got to play for a little while this afternoon. I thought these pictures were just too cute. And now both are napping so I have a moment and wanted to upload these pictures.

Caden's 6 Month Pictures

We got Caden's 6 month pictures taken last weekend by Jessica Risinger a photographer here in Memphis. We love working with her. We always end up with lots of good proofs which make for a hard decision when it comes time to order prints. It really isn't that difficult and I'm sure you could figure it out, but here are the directions as to how to find his proofs and you need the password found in #5 below.

Directions:

Happy Half Birthday

Caden and his Sippy Cup

This picture is from a couple of weeks ago, but I think it is super cute.

Caden turned 6 months old last Sunday (Feb 15th). He is getting so big! When he went for his six month check-up he weighed 16lbs 2oz and was 26 3/4 inches long. He has gained 9 pounds since he was born. He can sit up by himself for a few seconds before toppling. He loves to squeal and shriek to get our attention. He loves babbling to anyone who will listen (which includes the fish in the aquarium, the light in the living room, or the mobile over his bed). We may just have a talker on our hands. We are enjoying Ricky being in 4th year of Med school which is a lot less demanding than the prior years. Really not even close to comparable. Instead of spending hours on end at the school, hospital, or studying we enjoy him being back home for the day by lunch time (assuming he even had to go in that day). Needless to say life is pretty good. Match Day is March 19th. This is the day that we will find out where we will be going for Ricky's residency (the next 5 years). It will be here soon!

The other weekend we went to a wedding shower at a friend's house and Caden was in awe of everyone's glasses that they were drinking out of. He was insistent that he needed a drink out of my glass (as well as Ricky's beer bottle). He was very funny because if you let him grab a hold of it he knew exactly what to do. He opened his mouth and crammed it onto the glass (ok so he kind of knew what to do. He didn't exactly get his mouth on the top of the glass). Anyway being the 1st time mom that I am I didn't let him have any of our drinks but when we got home we decided to let him have a shot at the sippy cup. He loved it! And new exactly what to do. It went straight into his mouth. He thinks he is sooo big.

Lilly and Caden

Caden really enjoys Lilly right now. He has been interested in watching her for a while now but recently he has started reaching for her and loves to pet her. She has been wonderful with him and just sits patiently as he grabs a handful of hair. Of couse she doesn't mind giving him a good lick either. Here are a couple of cute pictures of them together. Thanks to Tommie for the cute Onesie.

Savannah

Ricky had an interview in Savannah, GA on Monday. We decided to leave a couple of days early and make a weekend trip of it. Caden got to go to the beach for the first time and we enjoyed temperatures in the 60's and 70's before returning back to Memphis and now the temperature is 20. But we know Grandmas and Grandpas it is a long way from home (and free babysitting) but it was a fun trip.

Caden got some sunglasses for Christmas, and he is pretty stylin in them. Check out the cool kid!

Caden's First Christmas

Caden enjoyed his first Christmas. He liked eating the wrapping paper but also liked all of his new toys. He has been enjoying them all, especially all the noisy ones which Ricky and I just love. Truthfully they aren't too bad and he does really like the noise. He has figured out that he is the one making them make noise which he thinks is pretty cool. Caden also got a rocking-puppy, and you can tell from the picture that he thought we were crazy having him ride it. Ricky is pretty sure that he will be a professional bull rider. Maybe more like a professional Lilly rider.
