Baking with a Toddler

The other day Caden helped me bake a cake. I looked away for a split second (the story of every mother) and he grabbed a handful of flour and shoved it in his mouth. Needless to say it didn't taste quite like he had hoped. We made a mess but the end result tasted good.

The Cake!

From Warm to Cold

We all had fun on Ricky's vacation week. We spent some of the time in Jackson, MS welcoming baby Caroline then we spent a few more days back in Cape. Then we traveled back home to Columbia (to the freezing cold... below zero temps). On the way back to Columbia we stopped in St. Louis at the Butterfly house and enjoyed seeing some butterflies in their 85 degree sanctuary. Caden loved seeing all the butterflies. The geese outside swimming were pretty cool too. We came back home to the cold but Ricky got to go duck hunting where he shot a duck and his first Canada Goose. Caden also got to venture out to play in the snow for the first time. He thought the snow tasted great and now every time I open the freezer if he's in the room he runs over and grabs a piece of ice to eat. He screamed the other night when he dropped his piece of ice and Lilly got it and ate it. Yikes! Ice cubes probably not the safest thing for a 1 year old to eat but I guess it reminds him of the snow outside because he never did that before. Anyway here are some pictures from our adventures.

Visiting Grandpa Dewrock at work. Driving a cool old car.

Taking a break at the butterfly house. Watching the butterflies.

WOW! Butterflies.

Was that a butterfly? Wow!

Eating snow. Yum Yum.

Lilly loves the snow...as always.
