Boo Hoo

This picture is from Ricky's birthday (Oct 22nd) before Caden's bedtime when we were enjoying Ricky's birthday cupcakes. Ricky thought he looked like he had a Hitler mustache so that is why the picture was taken. But you can also see the steri-strips on his chin from is first "major" injury of his walking career. I'm sure it won't be the last nor the worst but it wasn't very pretty when it happened. Ultimately Ricky came home to assess the situation because I am not a nurse or doctor and I wasn't sure if it needed stitches or not. He determined he could just put some steri-strips on it and it would help hold it together and we could avoid the ER and stitches. It worked well and he is healing nicely.

More Halloween pictures to come soon, but here is a preview of our little Horse. Happy Halloween!

Hard Working Men

The other weekend Ricky was out in the backyard working on building a flower bed. After Caden woke up from his nap he pitched in to help get the job done. However, currently thanks to Caden and Lilly (mostly Lilly here) there is as much mulch in the yard as in the flower bed. Unfortunately Lilly doesn't understand that mulch is not small sticks for her to eat. So we are working on that. Oops, we knew she liked to eat mulch...guess it would have helped if we had thought of that before we put in a flower bed in the backyard where she plays. Anyway here are some pictures of my hard working guys and some of Caden playing in the yard.

Staying Busy

We have had a busy few weeks up here with lot of visitors and fun. Last weekend my parents came up to visit for the weekend. Then on Monday the Yauns (some of our friends from Memphis) came up for a few days. Then Friday Ricky's mom and his aunt came up for the weekend to visit. Not to mention the fact that Ricky, Caden, and I came down with a bit of a virus this weekend/today but luckily it was only a short lived one and we have recovered, well Ricky is still recovering, but he didn't truly get it until last night. We enjoyed everyone's company and Caden thought Drew Yaun was the coolest kid ever. It was very cute to watch them interact and to watch Caden try to do everything Drew did. Anyhow I have some pictures to share that we took while everyone was here.

Not the best picture of the boys but we went to a pumpkin patch one day while the Yauns were here. It was fun, just very chilly.

Little Doctors in training...Caden and Drew that is, not Jason. : ) The Doctor Kit was a big hit. And thanks to Dr. Drew none of us should have worms in our ears anymore.

If you stayed with me through this long post I'll add just one more. Just to embarrass Ricky. We'll see how long it takes before he checks the blog and sees that I posted this. He grew his beard for a few days and then shaved it and left the mustache. He thought it was funny and was going to go to work with it, but he backed out and shaved it off. I was going through the pictures on the camera the other day and realized that he took some pictures of himself with the stache before he shaved it. What a Goof! So here is a picture of my hubby looking a little creepy. By the way Thursday is his B-Day so wish him a Happy Birthday if you see or talk to him.

Step by Step

Caden Walks!!! He has been taking a few steps here and there for several weeks now, but on Oct. 8th (which was by birthday) he walked clear across the room. I said it was his birthday present to me. He was in the dining room holding on to the table leg and Ricky was sitting on the loveseat in the living room. Ricky said Caden why don't you walk to me. So Caden let go and walked all the way into the living room. He was pretty proud of himself. And his face was priceless. When he had gotten about five steps into it his eyes got so big and he started shaking his arms like "Oh my gosh I'm doing it!" He was very cute and Ricky and I were both standing there to see it. Since then he has been practicing up a storm and is starting to walk more and more. But still if he wants to get somewhere fast he'll crawl, without a doubt. Here are a couple of videos of him shortly after he decided he could walk.

Yum Yum

Caden has decided that he is a big boy and can eat all kinds of things. Before he tended to gag (and then vomit everything in his stomach) if he didn't like something about what he was eating. Which in turn made us a little hesitant to give him a lot of new table food. But now he's all about table food. Today I was impressed when he ate a chicken salad sandwich for lunch (well really only half). He has taken a few steps at a time but his fastest and preferred method to get around is still crawling. He's a mover though. When he wants something he gets there fast! Oh and I should mention that Ricky shot a doe with his bow. Ha, Doe with his Bow, it rhymed. A big one at that...so he says, I didn't see it. And I haven't seen any pictures of it, I'm not sure if there are any? But that is probably because he went hunting after work last Tuesday, shot the deer around 6 (I'm guessing) and didn't find the thing until LATE (maybe 11ish) then they had to drag it back to the barn and do all the dirty work to clean it. He didn't get home until 1:30 that night. So 11 is kinda late to be snapping away pictures, especially in the woods. Well I think that is the latest with us, Ricky is working this weekend so Caden and I are just hanging out and getting some things done around the house.
